Starting a project to host simple web services to sync across all my devices.

I've been working on a personal project to host a few web services at home with a Raspberry Pi. Over the next few posts, I'll create some "how to" steps as a journal of how it all went.

Why do this?

That's a good question. I've done it before and the slightest tweak has seen it all go wrong.

The primary reason is to scale the walled garden to enable a few utilities to work and, most importantly sync, across platforms. I use iOS and Android all the time and I want to be able to see my content whatever I am using.

What are we talking about?

I need these services accessible across my computer, tablet and phones:
- RSS Reader
- Read it later library
- Podcast aggregator

I literally use RSS feeds every single day to keep up to date on tech and other topics. A read it later service lets me keep important articles from RSS and the web as I encounter them and although remote working as reduced my podcast time, I still like to listen occasionally.
